The Chapel

Royal-Naval-College-Chapel-(130214)A few weeks ago we drove down to Greenwich for the Ansel Adams exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, just in time on closing day. That was fantastic, but more about that another day. We took the opportunity to walk around Greenwich with its grand architecture and busy market. I had my film camera with me, and took the chance to experiment some more with black & white. This particular photo was taken at the Chapel in the Old Royal Naval College. Sadly the Painted Hall, on the symmetrically opposite side of the building, was closed for repairs at the time of our visit.

The image was taken handheld with my EOS Elan II and the 17-40mm f/4L lens at its wider end. Film used was Kodak TMX-100 at its rated 100 ISO exposure index. The film was developed in Adox Rodinal at 1+50 dilution for 12 minutes with intermittent agitation, as recommended. The negatives were scanned on an Epson V700 using the scripts I developed earlier. Processing involved a slight perspective correction and the usual selective curves for contrast adjustment.
