Books in the Boat House

Books in the Boat House (1503)

Another photo from the boat house at Winkworth arboretum. This shelf was somewhat further along from the shelf with the flowers. I thought it was rather amusing how the boat house reading material would include old texts on butterflies, moths, and caterpillars (quite expected), an illustrated encyclopedia (also explainable), and the “family physician”. In any case, what attracted me most here was the texture of the wood and the quality of the light falling on the books.

As with the other photo, I took this handheld, making good use of high ISO and the image stabilizer. Post processing was minimal.
