Sagħtar

Sagħtar. (Click on the photo for added detail.)

I thought it would make a nice throwback post this week if I showed you the same plant a few months earlier. This is the same wild thyme, taken in late February this year, during a walk along the cliffs in Dingli. Sagħtar is a hardy plant that to me has strong associations with the local countryside and brings back fond memories from when I was young. It is a very fragrant herb, whether in flower or not, and popular with the bees (when in flower, of course!).
