Crow. (Click on the photo for added detail.)

For this week’s throwback series I’m sharing the last photo from this year’s visit to the Lake District. A walk we regularly do there is from our base in Keswick to the shores of Derwentwater, and along the shore to Friar’s Crag or Strandshag Bay. Often we head back a different way, through the woods and across the fields to the south of Keswick. When we reach town we like to pass through the churchyard of St John’s. In spring we generally see rabbits scuttling around, and of course birds in the trees. Both are rather shy and therefore difficult to photograph. Sometimes, though, one does get lucky.
