I have been lucky enough to visit a few cities that just seem surrounded by mountains. Grenoble is the latest, and perhaps my favourite so far. So this week I’m sharing another photo from this city, this time from a walk towards the Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation de l’Isère. We purposely extended our walk to pass through the Place de Verdun, a lovely open space surrounded by imposing buildings, including that of the Préfecture de l’Isère. However, in this photo I preferred to look west(ish), towards the Vercors range.
Browsing through local guide books, it is evident that there are many hiking paths, climbing routes, etc. in the mountains surrounding Grenoble. Which means, of course, that in my next visit I should really find a way to explore the surroundings.
