Going back a bit with today’s photos, from late summer and autumn last year, and a couple separate climbing outings with Lara and Ken. Whenever I know we’re going to be in three, I like to take a camera with me, usually the small mirrorless one, as I know there will be opportunity to use it (while the other two are climbing and belaying respectively).
The first few photos are from Wied Babu, near Żurrieq, on Florance, one of the easier climbs in a section that is very popular with beginners. It’s rated at 5a (French) on the guidebooks, but the first couple moves are definitely a fair bit harder. The last photo is from Wied il-Għasel in Mosta, as Lara negotiates the interesting bit on Straight Up, a lovely 5c (French) route that I’ve done so many times. There’s a great view from the top of this, and even better if you keep going and get to the top of the 6a (French) pitch above.
