In what will be a short break from the series of chapel photos, for this week’s throwback post I’m sharing a landscape detail from a walk in Wied Qirda and Wied Ħanżir last winter. I have done this walk a few times now, and I always find it pleasant, with a feeling of seclusion that is at odds with its proximity to towns and industrial areas. It is also usually well sheltered from the wind, though certain sections get rather muddy in winter.
This photo shows a little detail along the way, with a tree and other vegetation along the rocky path that is the valley bottom. A puddle reminds us that water must have flowed through this valley before human influence blocked the natural water ways.
