This week’s throwback photo is another one from the walk that I did about a year ago, starting from Mġarr. From Ġnejna I walked around the headland at Karraba, finding a path among the boulders, until I reached the beach at Għajn Tuffieħa. The proper one, that is normally reached by going down a long flight of stairs from the car park, not the arguably more popular one also known as Golden Bay (actually, ir-Ramla tal-Mixquqa in Maltese).
In any case, today’s photo shows a small sandy beach at the south west side of the bay. On my right is the headland of il-Karraba, and up ahead is the narrow ridge separating this headland from the mainland. As you can see, it’s a popular hike, especially in good weather. Because of the clay, I’d advise against tackling this in or after the rain.
