Mosta

I’m trying my best this week to get my schedule back on track. And that includes my blogging. While my more recent photos are still in my editing pile, I thought I’d share something from a few weeks ago, an end-of-the-year walk starting from Kunċizzjoni. As things worked out, by the end of my walk, the sun was almost setting and the light was glorious, … Continue reading Mosta

Swiss Air Force PC-7 TEAM

The penultimate set from this year’s Malta International Airshow shows the Swiss Air Force PC-7 TEAM, an aerobatic team of the Swiss Air Force, based on the Pilatus PC-7 Turbo Trainer aircraft. These were much easier to track, as of course the turboprop engine doesn’t really compare with a jet engine. Personally, I find propeller aircraft to be much nicer than jets. But then I … Continue reading Swiss Air Force PC-7 TEAM

Rafale C

For a few weeks I’ll be continuing with photos from the Malta International Airshow, held in early autumn this year. I’m sure that for many aircraft enthusiasts and airshow visitors, the highlights tend to be the jet fighters. While their planned function is at best a sobering reality, there can be no doubt about the engineering ingenuity involved in their design and production. I recall … Continue reading Rafale C

Luna

Mostly, of course, this is due to the inevitable fact that I tend to shoot much less over summer. And with the situation as it is, I haven’t been travelling either. Well, perhaps the former is not entirely true, but the photos I’ve taken recently … Continue reading Luna

It-Torri ta’ Sant’Agata

I’m continuing this series of throwback photos from a walk in Il-Majjistral last autumn, this time with a view north towards the well-known red tower in Mellieħa. In the foreground one can see the headland enclosing Il-Prajjiet, possibly better know as Anchor Bay, where there remains the “Popeye Village” set from the 1980 Disney film, now a tourist attraction. (This explains the houses with pitched … Continue reading It-Torri ta’ Sant’Agata

Horse Riding at Il-Majjistral

For this week’s throwback post I’m sharing another photo from that walk in Il-Majjistral last autumn. I remember I had my long telephoto lens fitted, looking for details in the landscape, when this horse and rider showed up along the path we were soon to walk. With such a beautiful beast I just couldn’t resist, and barely had time to compose before the angles would … Continue reading Horse Riding at Il-Majjistral
